Unit 26: To The Cross

As people began to turn against Jesus, He  journeyed toward Jerusalem where He knew He would be arrested and crucified. Jesus continued to tell people that they needed to repent, and He prepared His true followers for His death. Soon after Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, He was betrayed, arrested, tried, and crucified. 

Key Passage: Philippians 2:8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Big Picture Question: What did Jesus do to save us? Jesus lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead.

 March 21: Jesus’ Triumphal Entry Matthew 21; Mark 11; Luke 19; John 12
Story Point: People welcomed Jesus to Jerusalem as their King.

March 28: Jesus Was Questioned Matthew 22; Mark 12; Luke 20
Story Point: Jesus spoke with wisdom and authority.

April 4: The Last Supper Matthew 26; Mark 14; Luke 22; John 13
Story Point: Jesus commanded His disciples to remember His sacrifice.

April 11: Jesus Was Arrested Matthew 26–27
Story Point: Jesus allowed His enemies to arrest Him.

April 18: Jesus’ Crucifixion Matthew 26–27; John 18–19
Story Point: Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins.

Pre-ordered activity pages for The Gospel Project Unit 9 have arrived at the IDC building! The new unit begins Sunday, February 21. You can pick up your family’s packet this week M-Th between 9am and 4pm or on Sunday, Feb 21.

The packets are located in the lobby, labeled with the name of the parent(s) you put on the form, and sorted alphabetically by last name. 

Check your packet to be sure you have the right activity pages for your children’s ages, Activity pages for birth-pre k are “Preschool,” Kindergarten through 3rd grade are “Younger Kids” and 3rd-5th grade are “Older Kids.”
