Welcome to IDC Kids!

Our primary purpose is to support parents in their efforts to disciple their children. It is our prayer that we can work together with families to teach our children to 1) Know God 2) Love God and 3) Be on Mission for God.

KNOW GOD

While in our care, children receive gospel centered teaching with the intention of establishing a firm foundation in the lives of even our youngest attenders. Children will learn who God is, His amazing redemptive plan to rescue us from sin and death, and how we can join Him in His mission.

LOVE GOD

We want our kids to go beyond just knowing stories and facts to allowing the gospel to transform them from the inside out. As our curriculum states, “When kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything.”

BE ON MISSION

The body of Christ is made up of members who have different functions and our kids have a unique role in evangelizing the world. We encourage children to know the story of scripture and the role they have to play in it, use their talents and gifts for the glory of God, and have

PARTNERSHIP IN DISCIPLESHIP: CHURCH + PARENTS

THE PARENT’S ROLE

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy 6:6-7

While we put a great deal of effort and resources into teaching children while they are in our care, we don’t believe this is the primary method of discipleship for our kids. We believe that takes place in the home. Discipleship doesn’t have to be a structured program; in fact it is quite the opposite. It is our prayer that parents take advantage of daily opportunities to talk with their kids about Jesus.

THE CHURCH’S ROLE

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers,to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-13

We want to support and encourage parents in their efforts to disciple their kids. Our primary method for doing this is during the Kids Discipleship Hour. Our kids will walk through the Story of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation learning stories both familiar and unfamiliar. Following the discipleship hour, parents can take advantage of weekly handouts that include talking points to engage their kids in conversations about what they are learning.

We also encourage our leaders to have good relationships with kids and their parents. Our leaders are prepared to answer some tough questions as our kids grow in their understanding of the gospel and are advised to communicate with parents so that they can continue the conversation with their child throughout the week.

When kids truly experience the gospel, their hearts are transformed. It is the gospel, not good behavior, that changes everything.
